Rugby Player Profile

POSITION:

Inside Center. It allows me to run at people that are hopefully slower than me.

HOMETOWN:

Philadelphia. I’m actually one of the meat carcasses that Rocky punches in the meat cooler in the movie.
WHERE DID YOU PLAY RUGBY BEFORE HBS?

I used to play touch rugby for the Marines in the sands of Iraq. However, the term “touch” referred to punching people for the ball.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT PLAYING RUGBY AT HBS?

I can use it as part of a court-ordered therapy program to work out my aggression issues.
FAVORITE PLAYER AT HBS:

James Joun. He does all the tackling that the rest of the team misses.

BEST THING ABOUT PLAYING RUGBY AT HBS:

You get to meet a great bunch of guys. I came to a new town for university and I didn’t know anyone. I went to a few training sessions and a few socials, and I now know 30 guys and have a big network of friends.

BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION ABOUT RUGBY AT HBS:

You need to have played before HBS to join the team. Only about 30% of the team played before they came to HBS.

BEST MEMORY OF PLAYING RUGBY AT HBS:

The Wharton Tournament. We played awesome rugby during the day and my family came to watch. The whole team went out on the town for the “Walnut Walk” in the evening. Shirt, tie, blazer, lots of beer and zero pants. Just the usual night out in Philly really.
