Frustrated by the numerous hours she spent planning vacation activities (many of which were during her time at HBS), Bashir recognized a white space in the crowded travel industry. The fragmented experience of planning a trip, according to Bashir, requires an average leisure traveler seven hours and includes reading multiple guidebooks, visiting more than 20 different websites, and of course, talking to friends and family.

After meeting Oskar Bruening who came on as a technical co-founder, Bashir and Brueling launched Peek in October 2012. Described by the New York Times as “a site you want to visit again and again”, Peek handpicks the highest quality activities, displays them beautifully, and makes them easy to book online so that travelers can create an unforgettable trip.

Activities can be searched for by city and by categories such as arts & culture, adventurous, sights, family friendly, food & wine, and off the beaten path. Perfect Days have been created by celebrities such as designer Tory Bruch, who shares her favorite outdoor activities in Oahu, and Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, who highlights his favorite eateries and must-sees in San Francisco.
