Message from the Dean

Welcome, and welcome back, to Harvard Business School. It's an exciting time to be here; 2008 has marked the one hundredth anniversary of the School's founding, and we have been using the occasion as an opportunity to engage the community in a dialogue around who we are, what we do, and how we should be changing in the future. Message from the Editor

As I squinted at the bright screen of my laptop, my mind tried fruitlessly to control the growing sense of dread that was slowly taking over. The email that I had waited for months was sitting there in my inbox, but it wasn't titled "CONGRATULATIONS" like the other admissions notices I had already received. (3) comments

Summer Stories - Jacqueline Beato, Harrah's

Fun and work were two words I thought I would never say in the same sentence. This summer proved me wrong. My brief experience with Harrah's Entertainment made me realize that it was possible to work in an environment that was fun, exciting, engaging, and challenging all at once. (0) comments

Summer Stories - Chris Tyler, Istanbul

I spent my summer in Istanbul working for yemeksepeti.com (Turkish for foodbasket.com), a food-focused internship that gave me the chance to test the limits of my stomach and learn more about international business. I found the internship through Endeavor, a US based non-profit that provides services to its network of entrepreneurs. (0) comments

Summer Stories -Maureen Fan, Pixar

Both my left and right brain giggled with anticipation as I pushed through Pixar's glass doors and flew over the rainbow into a world where dreams really do come true - where fish speak, toys have insecurities, and robots fall in love. My left and right brain constantly war with each other. (0) comments

Faces of Analytics

August 2008 "You will work hard." This statement keynoted the welcome address for 220 members of the incoming Class of 2010 reporting early for "Analytics." Analytics is a two-week program in August that provides students with non-traditional backgrounds familiarity with Accounting, Finance and Quantitative Methods before the school year begins in earnest.
