Baker Library’s Welcome to the Fall Semester

Updated: Oct 9, 2023

Library hosts 700+ MBA students at record-breaking Open House.

The Class of 2025 enthusiastically turned out for the 2023 Baker Library MBA Open House on Tuesday, August 22nd, the library welcome event for START week. We experienced record-breaking attendance this year, with over 700 students participating in our library orientation programming. Library tours were offered during the open house, with notable stops being Baker Library’s two reading rooms, the de Gaspé Beaubien Reading Room (1st floor) and the Stamps Reading Room (3rd floor).  Students learned about Highlights Industry Newsletters (informative biweekly newsletters curated by the Baker librarians), the library’s digital newspaper subscriptions (including NYT, WSJ, FT, WaPost, and Bloomberg.com), and Baker’s Special Collections & Archives (home of the first HBS case and many more historical materials).

There was great energy that day, and students had the opportunity to meet staff and fellow students in the impressive space of the Stamps Reading Room. It’s not too late to learn more about Baker Library!

Visit the library’s MBA orientation page for an online orientation, virtual tour, and more: https://library.hbs.edu/orientation.

If you have additional questions, you can reach out to Baker Library: infoservices@hbs.edu  The librarians are here to help, ranging from assistance with research questions (where can I find analysts’ reports?), database overviews (how do I search on the Bloomberg terminal?), and more.  Better research begins with Baker Library!
